A place with a past — and a new purpose.
The Clearing has a genuine connection to the history of its landscape. Once part of the historic Hunloke Estate of Wingerworth Hall, the land was shaped for centuries. Following a 1920 estate sale, this woodland lot was cleared by timber merchants, creating the open space that gives our retreat its name.
Today, remnants of ancient rhododendrons and spectacular spring bluebells remain. It is a physical clearing within the landscape, but more importantly, a mental clearing: a place to step away from everyday noise and make space to breathe, think, and reconnect.
